Matt Robinson

I am a 24 year-old media professional, trained journalist, PR, writer, blogger and social media specialist with an active interest in TV, film, radio and all things digital.

I have  previously worked at The Sunday Times, The Independent, Reuters and MacLaurin Media and Champion Communications in London, UK.

I graduated with a 2.1 in English from the University of Reading in 2008 and completed the Newspaper Journalism MA/Diploma at City University London in 2009

In the past three years I have been published in a number of regional and national publications including The Guardian, The Sunday Telegraph, Broadcast, Reading Evening Post, Cambridge News and the Bristol Evening Post.

Until July 2010 I worked as a freelancer for www.inthenews.co.uk where I wrote regular film and music reviews and a weekly roundup of the weeks TV. I have also written features and news stories on outdoor sports and leisure activities for www.wideworldmag.co.uk. From June 2009 to May 2010 I worked one day a week at Reuters on a social media project in the run up to the General Election.

During my time at university in Reading I was News Editor of the Student Newspaper Spark* and was Head of Development at Junction11 the university radio station. I also served as a trustee of the students’ union RUSU.

In 2007 I worked at GCAP Media stations 2TenFm and Chiltern Radio (now known as Heart and operated by Global Radio).

My blog focuses on my journalistic experiences as well as observations on the world of journalism, television, radio and film.
